Ketrampilan Berbicara tentang Teks Fabel melalui Metode Diskusi Kelompok pada Siswa Kelas VIIA SMP Negeri Satap Lento
Abstract
Speaking skill is the ability to pronounce articulation sounds or words to express, and express thoughts, ideas, and feelings. The listener can receive information through a series of tones and stresses. Talking is a way for humans to survive. That is, by speaking, humans can express thoughts, feelings, and imaginations to be known by others.
This study aims to determine the speaking skills of students and the factors causing the low speaking skills of students in class VII A of SMP Negeri Satap Lento and to determine the results of speaking skills of students in class VII A of SMP Negeri Satap Lento by using the group discussion method.
This type of research is qualitative classroom action research (CAR). Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, and tests. Interviews are to find out the conditions and problems faced, observation is to find out teaching and learning activities in the classroom and tests are to determine students' speaking skills.
Factors low in speaking skills in students are internal and external factors. Internal factors are factors that come from within students, which include no encouragement and confidence to be skilled in speaking. External factors are factors that come from outside the students themselves which include the school environment, friends, and the state of the surrounding environment.
The results of this study indicate an increase or change in students' speaking skills through the discussion method. This is evidenced by an increase in the average speaking ability of students in the pre-cycle by an average of 60.56 (20%), the results in the first cycle increased by an average of 68.72 (40%) and the second cycle increased by an average -average 77.12 (84%).
