Abstract

This study aims to calculate the economic value of biogas volume and analyze the efficiency of its use as a substitute for the use of firewood and kerosene in the byo energy of pig farmers' kitchens. This research was conducted in Pitak Village, Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province during December 2022. The treatment tried was P0: Fermentation of pig feces for 6 days; P1: Fermentation of pig feces for 12 days; P2: Fermentation of pig feces for 18 days; P3: Fermentation of feces of pigs for 24 days. The variables studied are the calculation of the economic value of the volume of biogas produced after undergoing the fermentation process and calculating the efficiency value of using biogas with firewood and kerosene. The efficiency value of using biogas is calculated based on the results of conversion with kerosene and firewood is to produce gas that can be used to cook one liter of water is 21,473.45 ml so that it is equivalent to the use of kerosene for cooking 1 liter of water is 280 ml of kerosene for IDR. 6,500 and the use of firewood needed as much as 0.5 kg (1 bunch) for 0.5 kg or one bunch of firewood equivalent to IDR. 5,000. The results of the analysis can be concluded that, the most economical volume of biogas is P1 treatment with a fermentation duration on the 12th day with gas produced as much as 21,067.37 ml and a percentage of 57.55% and the estimated value of benefits or marginal value as much as 4,657.21 by being used to cook as much as 21,473.45 ml of water for 7.19 minutes.
