The JSM aims to provide an international forum for researchers and professionals to share their ideas on all topics related to mathematics education. It publishes its issues in an online and a printed version. The JSM welcomes high-quality manuscripts resulted from a research project in the scope of mathematics education, which includes, but is not limited to the following topics: Realistic Mathematics Education, Design/Development Research in Mathematics Education, PISA Task, Mathematics Ability, ICT in Mathematics Education, and Ethnomathematics. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan desain posttest-only control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Langke Rembong Manggarai NTT dengan jumlah 152 orang pada tahun ajara 2022/2023. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan random kelas. Sampel penelitian pada kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas VIII B dan kelas VIII A yang berjumlah 29 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes uraian. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah dengan uji-t. Dari analisis data ditemukan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbantuan geogebra berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Pembahasan tentang temuan baru dan kelemahan penelitian disajikan sebagai ide dasar untuk penelitian lebih lanjut.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">(<em>This research was conducted to analyze differences in mathematical communication skills between students who were taught using the S</em></span><em style="font-weight: 400;">TAD type cooperative learning model assisted by Geogebra and students who received conventional learning. The method used is quasi-experimental research using a posttest-only control group design. The population in the study were all Grade VIII students of SMPN 5 Langke Rembong Manggarai NTT with a total of 152 people in the 2022/2023 academic year. Sampling was done by random class. The research samples in the experimental class were class VIII B and class VIII A, totaling 29 students as the control class. The instrument used in this study is a description test. The analysis technique used is the t-test. From the data analysis it was found that the STAD type cooperative learning model assisted by Geogebra had a positive effect on students' mathematical communication skills. Harapan ini dapat dicapai melalui pembiasaan memecahkan masalah dalam pembelajaran yang direncanakan dengan sistematis. Sehubungan dengan itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas IX Sekolah Menengah Pertama Katolik (SMPK) Santu Fransiskus Xaverius Ruteng menggunakan model problem-based learning (PBL). Materi yang manjadi focus analisis adalah translasi dan refleksi. Dalam mencapai tujian tersebut, penelitian tindakan kelas diterapkan sebagai bagian dari penelitian deskriptif dimana hasil belajar matematika dideskripsikan untuk tiap siklus dan dianalisis peningkatan tiap siklusnya. Dari hasil analisis deskriptif disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi translasi dan refleksi. Hal ini terlihat dari adanya peningkatan rerata pada tiap siklus. Dengan hasil ini direkomendasikan untuk menerapakn model pembelajaran serupa pada materi terkait lainnya.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">(<em>The 21st-century learning trend is to condition students to be able to solve problems that will be useful in everyday life. This hope can be achieved through the habit of solving problems in systematically planned learning. In this regard, the purpose of this study was to analyze the improvement in mathematics learning outcomes of class IX students at the Catholic Junior High School (SMPK) Santu Francis Xavier Ruteng using a problem-based learning model. The material that becomes the focus of the analysis is translation and reflection. In achieving this goal, classroom action research is applied as part of descriptive research where mathematics learning outcomes are described for each cycle and the improvement of each cycle is analyzed. From the results of the descriptive analysis, it was concluded that the application of problem-based learning models can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in translation and reflection material. This can be seen from the average increase in each cycle. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan <em>Posttest-Only Control Group Design</em>. Populasinya mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPK Immaculata Ruteng dengan jumlah 211 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu <em>cluster random sampling</em>. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yaitu instrument tes. Perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dianalisis menggunakan uji t dengan rumus polled varian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa kemampuan pemecahan amsalah matematis siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari pada siswa di kelas kontrol. Hal ini berkontribusi kepada literatur dan praktisi untuk mempertimbangkan penerapan model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dalam pembelajaran matematika dan studi lebih lanjut disarankan pada materi lainnya.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">(<em>This study aims to analyze differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities between groups of students who are taught using the guided discovery learning model and those who use conventional learning on social arithmetic material in class VII SMPK Immaculata Ruteng. This type of research is quasi-experimental research using the Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population includes all class VII students of SMPK Immaculata Ruteng with a total of 211 students. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The instrument used to measure students' mathematical problem solving abilities is the test instrument. Differences in students' mathematical problem solving abilities were analyzed using the t test with the polled variant formula. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the students' mathematical problem solving skills in the experimental class were better than those in the control class. After analyzing the mathematics test questions, it is not difficult to find that the rotation of a figure is often tested in a comprehensive expansion. The</span><span lang="EN-US"> test </span><span lang="EN-US">questions focus</span><span lang="EN-US">ed </span><span lang="EN-US">on the problems related to angles or line segments when the figure is rotated to a particular position, integrating the dynamic geometry of change and invariance, geometric conjecture, drawing, reasoning, proof and calculation ability, as well as innovation and practical ability</span><span lang="EN-US">of </span><span lang="EN-US">students' experience of the operation activities related to the transformation of </span><span lang="EN-US">a </span><span lang="EN-US">figure</span><span lang="EN-US">. </span><span lang="EN-US">The solution of such problems requires intuitive imagination, logical reasoning and mathematical literacy.
