Abstract

Coffee is the dominant commodity from plantations in Rembang Village, Licin District, Banyuwangi Regency. The abundant availability of coffee has not been balanced with good post-harvest handling capabilities, resulting in low quality coffee and contributing to postharvest losses which can reduce farmers' income. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out training and mentoring activities related to coffee handling. The service partner is the Association of Farmer Groups (GAPOKTAN) of Rembang Village which consists of 15 people. The initial stage carried out in service activities is a field observation activity to find out the problems being faced and explore the potential for developing horticultural products in the area. The second stage is the preparation of tools and materials to support service activities, while the third stage is training and assistance in the process of processing cherry coffee into rice coffee through a wet fermentation process. The final stage is a discussion that aims to review the stages of the post-harvest handling process and processing of coffee beans to become rice coffee (coffee beans that are ready to be roasted) which are deemed unclear as well as evaluation to determine the level of success of the service program. The evaluation results showed that all participants were able to understand the training material provided, which was proven by the evaluation results, where all participants were able to exceed the minimum score of 60.
