Abstract

Tuke is a village situated within the Compang Tuke Subdistrict, Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency. A significant challenge in this village is the limited provision of quality educational resources for children. The scarcity of children's books and other essential facilities contributes to a low engagement in reading and writing development. This article describes a community service initiative with the following objectives: first, to enhance children's literacy skills in Tuke village. The principle of 'Live to learn,' which advocates lifelong learning, aims to dismantle educational barriers both within and beyond school environments. Second, to provide sustained guidance on literacy development by child education specialists. Third, to foster collaboration between the community service team and local partners in establishing a Tuke Village Community Child-Friendly Reading Park. This initiative has yielded a positive impact, evidenced by increased children's engagement in reading, writing, and discussion at the reading park.
