Abstract

This article aims to describe the implementation of community service activities in the form of public speaking skills training for Catholic Youth (OMK) at the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish, Labuan Bajo. The main objective of the activity is to overcome the lack of communication skills in Catholic youth in the face of the great demands of the 21st century. The methods applied in this activity are lectures, interactive discussions, and practical simulations. The training has brought positive results in the form of increasing insight of Catholic youth at the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish, Labuan Bajo regarding public speaking, growing their confidence to communicate in public, and improving practical skills for communication. The results of this activity prove the significance of systematic and interactive training in empowering the practical skills of Catholic youth, amidst the increasingly complex demands of communication in the 21st century. This activity is expected to have further implications for increasing the active participation of Catholic youth in church pastoral care and the realm of social community services.
