ANALISIS SOSIOLINGUISTIK ATAS NILAI MORAL DALAM NOVEL SEPERTI DENDAM RINDU HARUS DIBAYAR TUNTAS KARYA EKA KURNIAWAN
Abstract
This study aims to explore the sociolinguistic features of the novel Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas by Eka Kurniawan, with a focus on the moral values portrayed by the characters and their social class backgrounds. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the study analyzes the language variety and register, speech acts and discourse patterns, ideology and social norms, and narrative structure and point of view in the novel, in order to identify the ways in which these sociolinguistic features contribute to the novel's themes and messages. The analysis reveals that the characters in the novel use different language varieties and registers based on their social class backgrounds, gender, and age, and that their speech acts and discourse patterns reflect their social roles and power relations. The novel also portrays different moral values, with some characters showing empathy and social care, while others display violence and sexual harassment. The narrative structure and point of view of the novel affect the readers' understanding of the characters and their social contexts. The study contributes to the field of sociolinguistics by providing a detailed and nuanced analysis of the sociolinguistic features of the novel, and their role in portraying the moral values and social class backgrounds of the characters. The findings of the study have implications for further research on sociolinguistics and literary studies, and for understanding the cultural and social contexts of the novel.
