Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to investigate the impact of implementing an active learning strategy, known as “Semua Orang Disini Guru” on student motivation in the subject of Islamic Religious Education at SMA Muhammadiyah, Boleng, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat. The study utilized a qualitative approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The active learning strategy employed in this research focused on engaging students through a variety of interactive activities that encouraged group work, critical thinking, discussion, skill practice, and peer teaching. The primary objective was to enhance student motivation and achieve specific learning goals, such as expressing opinions, problem analysis, writing opinion-based observations, drawing conclusions, and more. The research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle incorporating the active learning approach. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in student motivation, as evidenced by their increased active participation and enthusiasm during the learning process. The evaluation of post-test scores revealed an average score improvement, with a 24.3% increase in the first cycle and a notable 34.5% increase in the second cycle. These findings suggest that the implementation of the active learning strategy had a positive impact on student motivation in Islamic Religious Education. The students' heightened engagement and enthusiasm can be attributed to the inclusive nature of the learning approach, where every student had the opportunity to actively contribute and participate in the learning process. Therefore, this research highlights the effectiveness of the “Semua Orang Disini Guru” active learning strategy in promoting student motivation in the subject of Islamic Religious Education at SMA Muhammadiyah, Boleng. The study underscores the importance of employing diverse and interactive teaching methods to enhance student engagement and achieve positive learning outcomes.
