MODERNISASI DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP KERJA DODO DI DESA HILIHINTIR, KECAMATAN SATARMESE BARAT

Abstract

Dodo is a habit of the Manggarai community in completing work that is carried out alternately with the spirit of mutual cooperation. For a long time, this custom has been carried out in villages in Manggarai in general, especially in Hilihintir Village. Along with the times, the dodo has begun to fade due to a shift in the character of society which is more individualistic, efficient, and replaced by machines. Work orientation is no longer on solidarity but prioritizes results and is functional. Because of that, the dodo work system is disappearing. This study used a qualitative approach with the research design is an ethnographic study. The subjects of this study were the farmers in Hilihintir Village with the determination of the sample using the Purposive Sampling technique. Data collection techniques using interviews and observation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman technique. The results showed that modernization had an effect on dodo habits in Hilihintir. Some of the findings include (1) low desire to preserve the dodo is considered irrelevant because all farmers own rice fields and there is daily price competition for capital owners, (2) lack of a sense of brotherhood, unity and kinship, so that people tend to live individually in doing work. (3) Low solidarity among community members (4) Work is measured by money, so dodo is uneffective because a lot of time wasted.
