ANALISIS MISKONSEPSI SISWA PADA MATERI EVOLUSI SUB-BAB ADAPTASI MENGGUNAKAN METODE THREE TIER TEST

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out students' misconceptions about the evolution of the adaptation sub-chapter using the three tier test method. This research was conducted at the Junior High School Plus Al-Hilal Banjar city. The stage of making research instruments (questionnaire instruments and three-tier test diagnostic tests). The method that the researcher uses in this research is descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive approach. The analysis was carried out on the number and categories of diagnostic test results against research respondents with the existing factual arguments, by describing the state of the subject and material object and analyzed. Based on the results of the data and analysis in this study, it can be concluded as follows: 1) The misconceptions experienced by students are divided into three categories, namely the Darwinian Concept of Evolution, Evidence of Evolution, and Evolutionary Mechanisms. The majority of students' misconceptions occur in the category of Evidence for Evolution, namely students assume that evolution is only a theory that is not supported by strong evidence; and 2) The factors that influence the misconceptions experienced by students are divided into five categories, namely Preconception (10.5%), Books (16.5%), Social Media (18.5%) and Teaching Methods (6%).
