HUBUNGAN KECEMASAN BELAJAR DAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

This study aimed at determining the correlation between the mathematics anxiety and the students’ abilityto solve the mathematics problems. For getting the data, it was used quantitative approachwith correlation method. The sample of the study was 50 fifth grade students at SDI Waemata, West Manggarai, that selected by using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected by test  and  questionnaire techniques. To test the hypothesis,it was used correlation formula of Pearson Product Moment. The result that there was a negative and significant correlation between mathematics learning  anxiety  and the students’ ability in mathematics problem solving as shown by correlation coefficient of-0,5403. Thus, teachers should pay attention and handle with students anxiety in  learning mathematics.
