PERAN ORANG TUA DALAM MEMBENTUK KETERAMPILAN SOSIAL SISWA SDI GOLO RU’U KECAMATAN KUWUS KABUPATEN MANGGARAI BARAT

Abstract

Good character is the goal of the educational process for invividuals. However, this hope is not fully realized in the world of education. Some students at SDI Golo Ru'u have a bad mentality.  In this case, it is not polite to talk both to the teacher and his peers, excessive behavior, disorderly, and do not respect the teacher.  This study aims to describe the role of parents in shaping their children's social skills as students at SDI Golo Ru'u and describing the factors that influence the social skills of students at SDI Golo Ru'u.  This type of research used by researchers in this study is a qualitative type with descriptive design.  Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and observation.  The research instrument is the researcher himself, and guidelines for interviews and observations.  The technique of checking the validity of data through three channels namely, reducing data, presenting data, drawing conclusions.  Research shows that.  The conclusion of this study is the role of parents in shaping children's social skills as students through three methods, namely 1) the training method, 2) the exemplary method, 3) the positive habit method.  In addition, supporting factors faced by parents in shaping the social skills of children as students in SDI Golo Ru'u include (1) providing motivation, (2) positive habits that are practiced by parents.  While the inhibiting factors, namely;  (1) children who tend to be lazy, (2) children who are busy with the world of play, (3) neighborhood and school environment.
