TRADISI ROIT ALAN DI DESA NITA KLOANG KECAMATAN NITA KABUPATEN SIKKA

Abstract

The context of the socio-cultural life of roit alan in Nita Kloang village, Nita sub-district, Sikka district contains a form that becomes the norm that must be followed by the next generation. The ritual of roit alan is usually performed on the first son in the family. The leader of the ceremony is a person who has special abilities because wrongly saying will have an impact on the health of the child at the ceremony (roit alan). The problem of the form of the roit alan tradition will be analyzed using the functional structural theory initiated by Talcott Parson. The results showed that the roit alan ritual had the following forms: (1) Topo tete ue wari means 'submission or calling brother and sister to join hands, (2) Giit Menong (gathering strength) The leader of the ceremony brings the ceremonial material and places it on the rite while recite traditional mantras. (3) The core ceremony consists of a. opening ceremony, b. roit alan tere kudu ceremony, (4) closing ceremony: delivery of belis from mepu to ina ama.
