TINDAK UJAR KOMISIF PADA TUTURAN KONTESTAN PILKADA 2020 DI MANGGARAI BARAT

Every utterance in the communication process must have a purpose. In pragmatics, this intention is discussed in illocutionary speech acts. There are five kinds of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive illocutionary, directive, commissive, expressive, and declaration. This study focuses on analyzing commissive illocutionary acts in the utterances of the 2020 regional head election contestants in West Manggarai Regency. The purposes of this study are first, to describe the form of speech or speech of the 2020 Pilkada contestants in West Manggarai Regency which reflects the commissive illocutionary; second, describing the function of commissive speech acts which are reflected in the utterances or utterances of the 2020 Pilkada contestants in West Manggarai Regency. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The method used is the listening method using the tapping technique as the basic technique, while the followup
technique is a free listening technique, involving conversation and note-taking. The data sources used are the speeches of the West Manggarai election contestants published in the news in two online mass media namely pos-kupang.com and media-wartanusantara.id during September 2020. The results of this research are first, found two forms of embodiment commissive illocutionary acts in the speeches of the 2020 regional election contestants in West Manggarai Regency, namely declarative utterances and imperative shaped utterances. Second, there are four functions of commissive speech acts in the speeches of the 2020 Pilkada contestants in West Manggarai, namely the functions of promising, refusing, guaranteeing, and supporting.
