Pengaruh Kehadiran Media Terhadap Eksistensi Perpustakaan Sekolah di Kecamatan Langke Rembong dan Dampaknya bagi Perkembangan Literasi Siswa

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of media presence on the existence of school libraries in Langke Rembong District and their impact on the development of student literacy. This research is included in the type of quantitative research with survey methods and questionnaire distribution. The data source was obtained from 350 samples (students) that came from a predetermined population. Determination of sampling using multistage random sampling techniques. From each predetermined school, each student who was sampled was taken using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was a Likert scale. The data analysis technique of this research is descriptive statistical analysis technique. The results of this study are described as follows. First, the existence of the school library in Langke Rembong sub - district is not good enough. This can be seen from the interest of visitors (students) that are relatively unstable. Second, the limited availability of reading material in the libra ry causes some students to use the internet as a reference source for their assignments. Third, the presence of media (internet) in students causes them to no longer use the library as a means or place of learning. The students do more work at home. Fourth , the poor arrangement of the library environment also causes a decrease in students' interest in using the library as a learning tool. Fifth, the strong influence of the media on students' self - development causes their literacy and literacy levels to decr ease.
