GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN REMAJA PUTRI TENTANG PERSONAL HYGIENE SELAMA MENSTRUASI

Abstract

Background: Menstruation is a characteristic of a woman experiencing puberty. During menstruation an adolescent is susceptible to infection due to lack of hygiene during menstruation. Personal hygiene is one of the efforts that can be made to prevent viral, bacterial or fungal infections. Objective: to determine the description of knowledge of adolescent girls about personal hygiene during menstruation Method: the type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were adolescent girls who had experienced menstruation, the sample amounted to 30 people, the sampling technique was simple random sampling. The research was conducted at SMPN 1 Ruteng Cancar in November. Results: the results showed that out of 30 adolescent girls 12 people (40%) had sufficient knowledge and 18 people (60%) had good knowledge about personal hygiene during menstruation. Conclusion: all young women have sufficient and good knowledge about personal hygiene during menstruation. Suggestions for future researchers to examine the behavior of adolescent girls regarding personal hygiene during menstruation.
