Early childhood discipline remains a crucial challenge within the educational context, as observed at Santa Angela Ruteng Early Childhood Education (PAUD), which continues to exhibit low rule persistence and student compliance. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation as a psychological intervention to enhance self-regulation and transform children's disciplinary behavior.
Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved 50 children as observation subjects, supported by primary data from five respondents and one key informant through semi-structured interviews. The research instrument was constructed based on Zimmerman's self-regulation theoretical framework to ensure the accuracy of behavioral change measurement.
The results indicate a significant shift in behavior; students who consistently participated in mindfulness sessions demonstrated increased compliance, better instruction articulation, and active engagement in learning. These findings suggest that mindfulness not only establishes managerial order but also fosters emotional maturity as a foundation for organic discipline. This strategy is recommended for integration into the daily PAUD curriculum to holistically optimize character development, social skills, and children's emotional intelligence.
